Two time winner for the #BlackGirlJoy Challenge with the Black Girls and Women’s Consortium. In the first year of being established, we were able to host two events in Greensboro NC, and Greenville NC.

Our work includes dance workshops for youth within the community followed by literacy projects.
What motivates you to serve?
Being a light in young girls' lives.
How has your work touched the lives of youth and others in your community
I feel that the youth we come across were touched by our work, by not just dancing but being in a space that is safe for them. We take pride in including representation in our provided books to show them that they are beautiful no matter what.

Describe your family: (spouse, children, etc.)
My family includes my mom, my dad and stepmom, my 3 sisters, my brother, my nieces and nephews, and boyfriend of 5 years.
What advice would you offer to others wanting to serve?
Do it with your whole heart.
