Young Women of Promise, Inc. will present the 2022 Camp Promise for Girls summer enrichment program for students in grades 4 – 8. 

The camp will include dance lessons by award-winning dancer, Kieanna Bruinton; the launch of ENC Voices of Youth media project; “Express Yourself,” youth theater project and A Promise to Read youth literacy initiative.  Students will receive free books and personal journals; arts and crafts workshops; daily physical activity; and healthy meals and snacks each day. 

            Camp Promise for Girls will be held from July 11 through July 30 with sessions held Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Temple of Zion International Ministries, 1012 Dickinson Avenue, Greenville, NC 27834.

The camp will culminate with a “Young Women in Hats,” tea party on Saturday, July 30, 2022

            The camp registration fee is $50.00 and will be limited to 25 participants.  The deadline for enrollment is June 15, 2022.  For applications, please contact LaLa Richardson at 252-227-8457 or email ywopromise@gmail.com.  The organization website is www.ywopromise.org. 


DANCE LESSONS

Our girls will participate in daily dance lessons with Kieanna Bruinton.  Kieanna is an award-winning dancer and is a rising senior at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

EXPRESS YOURSELF

Students will participate in theater workshops and learn techniques that will be displayed during our end of camp celebration.

ENC
​VOICES OF YOUTH

Camp participants will help to launch the ENC Voices of Youth radio/media project. Students will participate in a variety of media projects including radio, tv, social media, journalism and more.

A PROMISE TO READ

Students will participate in the official Young Women's Book Club and will read, discuss and receive a collection of books to enhance their home reading collections.
