Name of Organization: Something2Somebody, Inc.
Summary of organization’s accomplishments
Year founded: Founded November 8, 2015 in Greenville, NC (Pitt County)
Describe your agency’s work: Something2Somebody provides hot meals to the homeless and less fortunate each Sunday in the Dream Park. We also fill pantry boxes in the community and provide toiletry products to those in need.
What motivates you to serve? I have always had a passion to serve others. Whether the church, family, job or in the community, seeing others happy makes me happy. Knowing that I have made someone else’s day better and brighter motivates me.
How has your work touched the lives of youth in your community? Youth in our community has had the ability to serve others. Through service, some have had the opportunity to experience and see just how fortunate they are. Our work has also given some youth in our community the opportunity to enjoy a hot home cooked meal.
Do you have a personal motto? Or a Bible verse that guides your life? Anybody and everybody can be something to somebody. We should all strive to help someone else, no matter how small or big it is. “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me” (Matthew 25:40, 45, NIV)
Estimate of number of lives impacted by your work:
85 to 90 per week
Describe your family: (spouse, children, etc.) I have been married for 18 years to Kari Williams and have one son, Khyrie age 14.
What advice would you offer to others wanting to serve? “Just do it!”, find something you enjoy doing and just start.
