Camp Promise 2015

 
Young Women of Promise hosted the 2015 Camp Promise summer enrichment program in July. 

During the summer of 2015 our Lenoir County students will be provided exposure to a variety of activities including

Take 5 and Read; students will receive free books to read during camp and for the rest of the summer.

Academic enrichment activities in reading, and math

Hands-on STEM activities
"Let Them See What They Can Be” motivational presentations by career professionals from throughout the Kinston community

Introduction to Sisterhood Agenda mentoring program for middle school girls at Queen Street Church

Male mentoring program and rites of passage for middle school boys at St. Peter Church of Christ

Some of our middle school students will participate in the 2nd Annual Coley Little STEM Camp

additional cam components included Junior Achievement;  Intergenerational Art and Photography and Interview Projects;  Physical Activity including Zumba, Martial Arts, and Dance Enrichment and Field Trips on Friday

Daily journaling and opportunities to improve public speaking skills

​Lunch and snacks were provided daily. Lunch was provided by Lenoir County Public Schools Summer Feeding program.
